Passion 1820 by Maurizio Ferrara and Franco Foschi

From the title you might think of an amorous passion dated 1820. And a player just curious and not prone to love affairs would remain mere back from reading it. Too bad. Guilt of communication has become so poor or so stingy or tampered with so as Carofiglio say, stripping it from abuse of the words their origin, their meaning. Never been closer to what I then said a title.
We are in fact full of the Restoration, at the height of papal censorship and state repression. And passion is painting, is the friendship, it is war, is the snow, and brigandage, is a clock, it is a challenge, an escape, a slave, a desire, a landscape, of virtue, the homeland, fate, the stars, death, melancholy. The only love story that could be stopped in the dimple of a smile.
So a historical novel passionate, humorous and light, adventurous and outspoken, with real and invented characters, beautiful in the same way.
